We're always looking for old mixtapes. We don't care if they were made by a big-name dj or not. In fact, it'd be nice to hear what kids were doing in their bedroom studios back in the 90s. We're also interested in dj equipment modifications if you've come up with something tight.

KMD

My friend Johnny Rockwell recently bought an
unopen case of Yo! MTV Raps cards. He gave
me two packs, and I got a KMD card. Even though
I remember it, it's still pretty hard to imagine
a group as good as KMD being on MTV.

Organized Konfusion

I'm not sure what the history of this record is.
I found it a while back, and bought it on the strength
of OK's name and the year (1994).

This is from Jon Hassell's biography:
"
COMPOSER/TRUMPETER Jon Hassell is the
visionary creator of a style of music he describes as
Fourth World, a mysterious, unique hybrid of music
both ancient and digital, composed and improvised,
Eastern and Western."

Um, right. Okay. So, I have no idea how he hooked
up with Organized Konfusion, but anyways. Take
a listen if you'd like.

Sweetness

Growing up, I was a huge Walter Payton fan. As I was
looking through an old box the other day, I found this
picture that I'd cut out of some library book in grade
school or junior high. Not sure why I'm posting it here-
just another blast from the past I guess.
R.I.P. Sweetness.
